Sometimes, you may not be satisfied with certain aspects of your video files. Their format is not supported by some media players, they can be too long, too short or they could have low quality audio tracks. You can find numerous applications to solve one or more problems, but Video Workshop addresses all these issues, which is a good reason to try it. It makes it possible to convert videos, cut or combine them or to mix a video with an audio file.

Video Workshop can be installed on many Windows platforms, ranging from Windows 98 to Windows 7. To install the application's components, you will have to follow a set of basic instructions, like providing a destination path or ticking a few options to create shortcuts.

The aforementioned tasks can be configured and executed under different tabs on the same interface. Most sections contain similar options for selecting an output folder, format, stream and resolution. If you want to convert a video and nothing else, you just need to load it, select a format and a few other output settings, which are optional. Each output format can be configured separately, on a different window.

Cutting a video requires clicking and dragging two sliders, to select the start time, as well as the end time. You can jump back or forward, by one frame, with the aid of Next and Previous buttons. This allows of a more precise cut. Besides these tools, you will find the same output options.

Combining two videos or mixing a video with an audio file is done more easily. You just need to load two or more videos and select your output settings if you want to combine them. To mix files, you will have to select a video and an audio file with different browsing options. All tasks are executed with the same button, located in the lower right corner of the interface.

Pros

Video Workshop enables a user to convert videos, merge or split them and mix videos with audio files. The controls are easy to master and it will not take long to get used to them. Furthermore, the software is capable of processing videos quite fast.

Cons

Even if you are working with the same file, you need to load it separately for each task. Video Workshop is designed to be easy to use, even for beginners. It offers multiple processing options, which are comfortable and easy to understand.
